Principle of eddy current dynamometer:
The eddy current dynamometer is composed of an inductor (rotor), an armature and an excitation winding, torque, a speed sensor, a base plate, etc., and the inductor is mainly composed of a traveling part and a swing part (armature and excitation coil). The induction sub on the rotor shaft is shaped like a gear, and is coaxial with a DC excitation coil on the rotor. When the excitation coil is connected with a DC current, there is a magnetic field around it, and a closed magnetic flux is generated around the excitation group. It is evident that the inducer on the left side of the winding has one polarity and the right side has the opposite polarity.

When rotating, eddy currents are generated due to the periodic changes of the magnetic density value, and the magnetic field generated by this eddy current interacts with the magnetic field that produces it, thereby generating a braking torque that is opposite to the machine under test, which makes the armature swing and transmits the braking force to the measuring device through the force arm on the armature. A non-contact magnetoelectric speed sensor and a 60-tooth crankset mounted on the spindle are used for rotational speed measurement, which converts the rotational speed signal into an electrical signal output.
Dynamometer power calculation P = torque * speed / 9550 (Kw) in the formula torque - (Nm) n speed - (rpm/min).
